GOOD LUCK
I went to the Brisbane airport to see off George who was my ex-teacher. He went to go to Japan to teach English. Going to the airport makes me sad because I always send someone off, and this time it was George.
We promised to keep in touch with each other. I hope he will also be successful in Japan.

NEW SCHOOL
I started going to school for a Cambridge exam from today. I haven't been to school for a long time, so I felt tense. There were 7 Koreans, 1 Brazilian, 1 Swiss, 1 Russian, 1 German and me in my class. I heard that originally this exam was popular among European students, but it was getting popular also among Asians because it included all the subjects, which are speaking, writing, grammar and listening. I also chose for these reasons. I hope my English will be improved and I will make new, good friends.

TENNIS AT SOUTH BANK
I played tennis at a South bank tennis court. We can use it for free.
I haven't played tennis, actually haven't done any exircise for a long time. So I felt refleshed after I did it.
I'm gonna live here for more 3 months at least. I'd like to find friends who can play tennis and do it together.

THE KATMANDU SALE
The Katomandu sale began today. Katomandu is one of the outdoor shops in Brisbane. I saw this brand after I came to Australia. I have been a fan since I bought a backpack once. It was very useful. I think the sizes and accessaries of the brand are a good fit for me.
I bought a waist pouch which reduced by 50%. It will be useful when I take the bicycle.
I can't get this brand's goods in Japan because there are no shops in Japan.
It will be a good survenier for me!

PHOTO PRINTS
I went to a photo shop to develop my picture to take to the new school where I'm studying. Actually I have never done it in a photo shop before, Because I usually used a printer in Japan.
It was very easy; at first, put a memory card in the automatic developing machine. Next, just follow its guidelines. At the time, I could change the photo's size and modify it clearly. It took about 1 hour.
It was very useful.

THE BATMANS BEGINS
I saw a DVD the title of which was "The Batmans Begins" which is the newest version of The Batmans series. It was a story which told the reason that the main charactor became "Batman".
The main actors were Christian Bale, Morgan Freesman and so on. I like Morgan Freesman because he is very dandy. He was also nice in this movie.
I have never seen other versions of The Batman series, but I was excited and enjoyed it a lot.

HAIR CUT
I had my hair cut. I needed it because my hair was too long and I was taking a long time to wash it. I had heard Australian hair dressers aren't used to cutting Asian's hair because Asian hair is thicker than Europian's. So I asked a Japanese hair dresser who is a friend of my friend. After she cut my hair, I felt that my head was lighter than before. I was satisfied with my new hair style.

SOUTH BANK
Today was a sunny day. I met my ex-teacher on the South Bank. He is going to go to Japan next Thursday, so we practised our languages with each other. We had "SUBWAY" sandwiches for lunch and ate them on the grass. He always has a memo book and he writes down Japanese words, but I'm poor in not only English but also Japanese. Sorry about that! ^^
We walked along the Brisbane River and talked a lot. It was a very nice day.

THE ALCHEMIST
Finally I finished reading the book,"The Alchemist". I tried reading it in English. It took about 5 months; but I didn't haven't read it for almost 4 months.

It was a story written about a shepherd who traveled to find the treasure he saw in his dream in the desert. I felt from this book that if I have some dreams and want to achieve them, I shouldn't stop to achieve them whatever happens.
This novel's author is Pauo Coelho, who is also a psychologist. I have read his books in Japan. I always became serious and considered the importance of our lives after I read them, but I like his novels.
Anyway, I'm satisfied with finishing reading this book.

SHARK TALE
I watched a DVD, whose title was "SHARK'S TALE". It was a comedy and a love/romance story. The characters' voices were played by popular actors and actresses; for example, Will Smith, Robert Deniro, Renee Zellweger, Angelina Jolie and so on.
I could sometimes watch it while imagining them because the cartoon characters' faces were similar to them. This story was very funny and the characters were cute. I really enjoyed it.

DIDGERIDOO
When I was walking on Queen Street, I saw an Aboriginal musician. He was playing the Didgeridoo, which is the traditional instrument of Aborigines. I've tried playing it before. At the time I could just make sounds after I practiced it. It was very difficult.. His playing was rhythmic and very nice.

DINNER IN WESTEND
I met George and Sachiko in Westend. George was my English teacher and he is going to go to Fukui prefecture in Japan as an English teacher from this April. We went to a Thai restaurant and talked about our lives and practised speaking in each other's language. It was very interesting.George was a very good teacher, and his students were fascinated by his guitar and songs because he was very good at them. We could learn English while enjoying his music.
I felt a little sad when I heard he had left here before I went back to Japan, but I hope he will also be successful as a teacher in Japan.

NOOSA
I went to Noosa which has very nice beaches and a National Park. Actually, I decided to go there yesterday night because I had a day off and nothing special. I'd like to join a surfing school.
I woke up early to take the train, but unfortunately, there was a train strike, so I had to wait for the next train for 1 hour. That's way I arrived in Noosa at almost 1pm. I couldn't join the surfing school... Oh, my goddess!
There were many sufers on the beach. I had lunch watching them. After that, I walked around the National Park. I heard from the infomation centre we could see wild koalas sometimes, but I couldn't find them...
Today wasn't my day, but I knew Noosa is a very good place for surfers. I want to go there again and try surfing!

HI, STELLA!
I met a Taiwanese friend who was an ex-classmate. I sometimes chatted with her on the internet. After she takes an IELT's exam, she is going back to Taiwan. We went to a Chinese tea cafe and I drunk a Chinese milk tea with tapioca. It was so sweet and very nice.
We talked about "the past love". It was interesting because we had never talked about this topic before.
I hope she will be successful in the IELT's exam and of course, with love in the future.

HOTEL RWANDA
I watched a DVD, the title of which was Hotel Rwanda. I was recommended it by my friend.

This was a true story about the Rwandan conflict which marked one of the bloodiest chapters in African history. It was a race conflict between Hutu and Tutsi. Over 100 days almost one million people were killed in Rwanda, but nobody came to help. Rwanda's Hutu extremists slaughtered their Tutsi neighbors and the world let them do it. It was a very tragic story. When I heard that it was a true story, I was very surprised.
The main hero was Paul Rusesabagina, who was a hotel manager and his race was Hutu, but he managed to save the lives of 1268 people with love and bravery. He was portrayed by Don Cheadle, whose acting was also so wonderful. I heard that conflicts like this are still happening in the Sudan, the Congo, or some Godforsaken place. I hope they will disappear all over the world.

BEARD PAPA SWEETS
When I walked in front of a shop near Central station, I felt something sentimental. After that, I remembered it was "beard papa Sweets", which is one of the chain shops of the cream puff. It has been getting popular in Japan recently. I also liked it.
My ex-flat mate's birthday is coming soon. I'm going to present them with a gift.

MY NEW JOB
I began working at a Japanese restaurant near my house from Sunday. It was the first time I have worked for a restraunt in Australia. Before I worked there, I thought it wouldn't be so difficult because its owner and co-workers were all Japanese and I have worked for a restaurant in Japan, but it was different... Almost all of the customers were Aussies because its location was the surburb and sometimes they asked me about the menu, so I had to explain about it in English. Also this restaunt had Take away, so I had to take the orders over the phone.
I want to adjust to working here quickly, it should become a good experience.

SWISS FRIENDS
Two Swiss guys came to our house. I heard from my flat owner he met them when he was traveling in NSW. At the time, they had also been traveling around Australia in their camping van.
They came to Brisbane to rest, and also to fix their car to sell. I heard from them about all their travels. I have also traveled the south of Australia, so it was very exciting. They said, actually, it is very hard to sell the car because it was like a "friend". I could understand that meaning.
After that, my flat owner took us to Mt. Cootha. We could look at the very beautiful night view of the city from there. It was amazing.

SUNNY BANK
I met Aki and LuYing who met at the meetup last Thursday. They are the University students and Aki is also teaching Japanese there and LuYing is his student.
We went to Sunnybank. It was my first time. There were many Chinese grocery shops, restraunts, electrical shops and so on. It was like a small China town.
We had lunch in the food court. I ate a Chinese rice noodle which has a soysaurce taste. It was plain and very nice.
We could talk about our lives in Australia and each other countries. It was exciting to talk with friends who live in different surroundings.

I went shopping to get some food. On the way, I found mushrooms growing on the grass. Because it has been a lot of rain?? I was not sure, but I felt they were very strange because I have looked at them growing just on the branches of the trees.
After that, I found more of them. I still feel strange, but,,, it's interesting.

SEVEN YEARS IN TIBET
I watched a DVD the title of which was "Seven Year's in Tibet". The main actor was Brat Pit.
The main charactor "Heinrich Harrer" was Austrean and an explorer, but on the way to climb at Nanga Parbat which is one of the highest peaks in Himalayas, he was captured with German because the World WarⅡ began and there was British territory.
After that, he escaped from there, and in the end, he arrived in Tibet at Lhasha. He spent seven years in Tibet as a young Dalai Lama's tutor teaching English, the ways of the western world and so on. At first, he was selfish and egotistical, but these experiences allowed him to become more emotional and thoughtful.
It was a true story. From this movie I learned not only Heinrich Harrer's life but also a lot of misery and sorrow which Tibetan had before by the invasion.
It was a nice movie.
